Here’s What You Need to Know About Our Studio Policies, Your Personal Information, and Media Consent.
1. Studio Policies & Class Participation
Attendance
- Please arrive 5 minutes before class starts.
- Notify your teacher in advance if your child cannot attend.
Parent Participation
- Parents are kindly asked to wait outside during classes unless otherwise arranged with the teacher.
Behavior Expectations
- All dancers are expected to treat teachers and fellow students with kindness and respect.
- No chewing gum in class.
- Always ask permission before leaving the classroom (e.g., for bathroom breaks).
Extra Costs
Participation in the following may incur additional costs:
- Competitions: Rehearsal fees, entry fees, costumes, spectator tickets.
- Exams: Exam fees and any required exam-specific attire.
- Annual Showcase: Costume costs and spectator tickets.
- Workshops or Special Events: Participation fees as communicated.
Exact costs will be confirmed by your teacher throughout the year.
2. POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) Compliance
We are committed to protecting your personal information in line with South Africa’s POPIA legislation.
- We collect only the information needed to manage your enrolment and communication.
- Your data is stored securely and is never sold or shared without your consent.
- You have the right to request access to, or removal of, your personal data at any time.

3. Media & Photography Consent
We love celebrating our dancers’ progress through photos and videos on our social media, website, and marketing materials.
If you prefer that we do not include your child in these materials, please notify us in writing.
- You can update or change your consent at any time.
- If you previously opted out and wish to opt back in (or vice versa), just let us know and we’ll gladly update your preferences.
- While we do our best to honour all media preferences, if you notice your child featured in a photo or video you’d like us to remove, please contact us immediately. We are committed to addressing such requests promptly and respectfully.

4. Website Privacy & Cookie Policy
Embedded Forms and Contact Data
When you fill out a form on our site (such as Contact, Enrolment, or Trial Lesson), we collect the information you submit, including your name, contact details, and message. This data is used only to respond to your enquiry and manage your engagement with Lifted Dance Factory.
We do not allow public commenting on our site.
Cookies
We use cookies to enhance your experience and monitor site performance. These include:

We retain form submissions and user data only as long as needed for administrative and operational purposes. Registered students’ information is stored securely.
5. Fees & Payment Terms

Payment Due Date: All fees are payable monthly in advance, on or before the 5th of each month. For example, March fees must be paid by the end of February.

Payment Method: All payments must be made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) only. No cash or alternative payment methods will be accepted.

Late Payments: A late payment penalty may apply if fees are not received by the due date.

Non-Attendance: Monthly fees remain payable in full regardless of class attendance. Exceptions will only be considered upon receipt of a valid medical certificate confirming that the student is unable to attend due to health reasons.

Cancellations: To cancel your enrolment, one full calendar month’s paid and written notice is required.

For example, if you wish to cancel at the end of April, notice must be submitted and April fees paid in full.

No cancellations will be accepted after 31 October. Enrolments not cancelled before this date will be liable for the full fourth-term fees, regardless of attendance.

6. Agreement Acceptance
By enrolling in our classes or using our services, you agree to these terms and conditions.
